Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos

These Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos are a healthier version of the Bonefish Grill favourite – you’re gonna have these tacos on repeat, trust me!
  • 12 corn tortillas
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Guacamole
  • Sour cream
Pico de gallo
  • 1 large hothouse tomato
  • ½ small yellow or red onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped cilantro
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 package pre-chopped cabbage mix
  • ¼ cup vinegar
  • 2 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp celery salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
Bang Bang Shrimp
  • 2-3 tbsp olive oil for frying
  • 50 shrimp
  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ cup light mayo
  • 4 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • Salt to taste
  1. Mix together coleslaw and pico de gallo, then let sit for flavours to mingle.
  2. Brush both sides of corn tortillas with olive oil and season with salt. BBQ, pan fry or toast in the oven for a couple minutes per side until tortillas have desired amount of firmness.
  3. Meanwhile, mix light mayo, sweet chili sauce and sriracha together. Set aside as the Bang Bang sauce. Heat olive oil in a large frying pan over med-high heat.
  4. Toss shrimp in flour, then fry for 2-3 min per side until shrimp are crispy. Remove shrimp and let drain on a paper towel lined plate. Toss in Bang Bang sauce until well-coated.
  5. Add coleslaw to corn tortillas, then add shrimp and pico de gallo. Serve with guacamole and sour cream (and maybe a margarita or two!)
